Young side triumphs against the odds
Saturday 12th September 2009
Woodbridge Town Reserves 3, Great Yarmouth Town Reserves 4
With two late call-offs and other players unavailable, a very young Reserves side made the trip to Woodbridge but those that went put on a great display for their managers. With a great display of committed football Yarmouth went three-up at one stage, but tired against a more experienced Woodbridge side who came back to make it three-all before the Bloaters rallied for one last effort and scored a late winner through Jack Deeley. “We were glad the whistle went when it did!” said a relieved assistant manager Andy Deeley. Scorers: Jack Deeley 2, Mark Thompson and Jo Bell.
