Harwich & Parkeston Reserves 2, Bloaters Reserves 5
A very young Bloaters side – only two players had substantial first team experience – took the long trip to distant Harwich for a Chell Trophy match, the Ridgeons Reserves League Cup, and rewarded a lot of hard work on behalf of themselves and the managers with an all-round fantastic performance. Lewis Greening opened the scoring capitalising on good work by Fernando Vide. The lead was doubled by Alex Formoso who volleyed home from outside the area after an amazing 30-yard pass by Johnny Watt. The home side got one back but Jacob Maitland restored the two-goal margin before half time from a Joe Bell cross which the home ‘keeper fumbled.
