Gorleston Rangers A 1, Bloaters 1

Great Yarmouth Town U10 started the new season's campaign with the target of retaining their champions status against last season's runners up, Gorleston Rangers A. Yarmouth were at full strength with Josh Swanston in Goal doing an excellent job when called upon, Kyle Haylock & Alex Sawyer at the back have already formed a fantastic partnership which will see teams having trouble breaking these two down, the midfield of Callum Aizlewood, Archie Wallis, Bobby Jex & Jordan Rodwell all having a fantastic game and really controlling the middle of the park. Thomas Hunter & Thomas Sims had a great game & looked very dangerous up top causing the home defence a lot of problems.

The young Bloaters started with great pace and determination which was just what was asked of them. They pressurized the home defence constantly throughout the game winning their personal battles and deservedly took the lead after 5 mins after a good passing move saw Thomas Hunter turn and hit a sweet shot into the back of the net from the edge of the area.

Yarmouth continued to spread the play superbly from back to front through Swanston, Haylock, & Sawyer, and the midfielders interchanging and playing some neat balls with Jex, Rodwell, Wallis & Aizlewood at the heart of the moves, Hunter & Sims were working tirelessly for the team up front.

Rangers did come back into it slightly but could not find away through a well organised young Bloaters outfit or Swanston in goal. As the 3 pts were looking to be heading back to the Wellesley a last minute dubious penalty was awarded and converted by the Rangers player to level the scores. All in all a great battle by both sides. Also great team display and effort given by all. Final Score 1-1. MOM: Whole Team.
