Defeat in West Norfolk

Saturday 7th November

WEST LYNN SSC 6, RESERVES 2

Norfolk Junior Cup 3rd Round

We had a very young side out on Saturday, with three lads just turned 16, reports Andy Deeley, assistant manager. Unfortunately several of the regular players who would normally have been available were not able to make the trip due to working, uni commitments etc. and the first team had three call-offs causing a further depleting of our squad. West Lynn were a typical Lynn side, very competitive (= kick every thing that moves, and most things that do not!); they had two or three players with Ridgeons Premier experience and it was a bit of an eye-opener to our youngsters.

We were on a bit of a hiding to nothing, but it’s well done to those that did put their boots on, thanks, lads! First choice goalkeeper Blaine Lowthorpe, who is coming back from injury, went on in the second half in an outfield position replacing Nino who is also just back from injury, and did very well for us. We will be signing one or two new and experienced players to give us a bit more strength in depth.

Team – J Sharp, J Miller, E Short, J Watt, S Lee, D Burgess, A Formoso, G Brooks, Nino, V Formosos, J Sisse. Sub: B Lowthorpe. Our scorers were Joachim Sisse and Alex Formoso
